Privacy policy

This policy explains what data PetID collects, why, and how you control it when you use petid.vn, the PetID app, the QR collar tag, the ID card and the PetCare plan. PetID processes personal data under Vietnam's Decree 13/2023/ND-CP on personal data protection.

1. Data we collect

  • Account: name, phone number, email, hashed password.
  • Pet profile: name, species, breed, photos, markings, microchip number, vaccine and vet records, and notes you add.
  • Public profile: only the fields you choose to show when someone scans the QR or taps NFC.
  • When your pet's code is scanned: time, device type, and the finder's location if they agree to share it.
  • Orders: recipient name, phone, delivery address and payment details.
  • PetCare: invoices, test results and treatment details that partner clinics send to PetID with the visit record.
  • Waitlist: email or phone, and your pet's name and species if you add them.

2. How we use it

  • Run the app, the public profile and lost alerts.
  • Help a finder reach you.
  • Print and deliver QR collar tags and ID cards.
  • Review visit records and pay PetCare's share to partner clinics.
  • Send vaccine reminders, order updates and launch news (you can opt out any time).
  • Prevent fraud and spam and keep the service secure.

3. Public information you control

The profile page opened by a QR scan or NFC tap only shows the fields you turn on. Phone, Zalo and address are hidden by default; turn them on when needed, especially while your pet is lost, and off again once they are home.

4. Sharing

PetID does not sell personal data. We only share it when needed with:

  • Partner vet clinics, to confirm your pet's PetCare plan and send the visit record.
  • Delivery carriers: recipient name, phone and address.
  • Infrastructure providers (hosting, email/SMS) under confidentiality agreements.
  • Authorities when required by law.

5. Storage and security

Data is stored on servers with encrypted connections, access control and regular backups. Only staff who need it can access personal data. We keep data while you use the service and delete or anonymise it within 30 days after you ask to delete your account, except records we must keep for accounting and tax rules.

6. Your rights

  • View, correct or export your data.
  • Withdraw consent for news or location sharing.
  • Ask us to delete your account and data.
  • Complain if you believe your data was mishandled.

7. Children

The service is for people aged 16 and over. Under-16s need a parent or guardian's consent to create an account.

8. Cookies and browser storage

The website only stores settings it needs, such as your language. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

9. Changes

We announce material changes on the website or in the app before they take effect.
